As an Automation Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and improving production lines and equipment for use in the UK facility and other sites worldwide. You will be involved at every stage of the project lifecycle, including Design, Development, Build, Commissioning, and Continuous Improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing detailed designs using CAD software.
  • Conducting research and analysis to ensure design feasibility and optimisation.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of designs, modifications, and project progress.
  • Preparing project costings, including Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Performing testing and validation to ensure design performance and reliability.
  • Providing support for modifications and design changes identified during Build and Commissioning stages.
  • Supporting and troubleshooting existing equipment both on-site and across other group companies.

About You

Essential skills and experience:

  • Degree-level education (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a similar subject.
  • Experience in equipment design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of 3D CAD software.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation and manufacturing processes.
  • Interest in mechanical assembly and system design.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
