Join Trek’s EMEA Finance team in a high impact role focused on the supply chain. You’ll help optimise Delivery & Distribution performance, uncover cost-saving opportunities, and champion accurate product costing and variance analysis. You’ll also support critical processes such as the inventory forecast by improving visibility to both supply and demand assumptions.
Key Accountabilities
- Distribution Centres
- Develop KPIs to drive efficient people planning and use of space in our distribution centres in the Netherlands and Germany.
- Support local teams with tools and guidance to understand their monthly financial results.
- Own the annual budget and monthly forecast process for all Distribution costs.
- Contribute to a range of decisions with the Distribution leadership team that result in best-in-class service levels and low unit costs.
- Delivery
- Support all negotiations with carriers who deliver product from our warehouses to retailers and consumers around Europe, including highlighting volume & shipment size trends that could impact available pricing options.
- Ensure delivery costs are billed accurately by our carriers and carrier tariffs are clearly understood by Commercial & Finance teams.
- Lead accurate Delivery cost budgeting and forecasting in all of Trek’s EMEA markets.
- Champion ways to reduce the net cost of Delivery to Trek and our Customers.
- Inventory Forecasting, Product Costing, Variance Analysis
- Drive the inventory forecast by connecting all assumptions around supply and demand.
- Stress test assumptions in the inventory forecast relative to our manufacturing, distribution, and delivery capacities.
- Develop and operate controls to identify inaccuracies in standard costs or product pricing.
- Analyze and explain variances to standard costs on a weekly basis and action any changes necessary to limit further variances.
- Properly account for the amortization of product cost variances in the balance sheet and income statement.
- Ad hoc projects that benefit the broader EMEA business.
Key Relationships
- Reporting to the European Financial Controller.
- Key business partner to the EMEA Distribution & Delivery Director and EMEA Forecasting Director.
- Key interface to Global Costing and Operations teams in Trek’s U.S.-based Headquarters.
- Strong working relationship with Financial Controllers and other leaders across Trek’s EMEA business.
Skills And Competencies
- Fluent in English language.
- 4-7 years of Finance or Accounting experience.
- Demonstrable desire to both work in the details and communicate the bigger picture commercially.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills with the ability to efficiently manage large amounts of data.
- Ability to provide clear and fact-based analysis to support a proposed course of action.
- Ability to communicate clearly and influence senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with AI tools and process automation.
- Familiarity with JD Edwards or similar ERP system.
