The Tregothnan Estate is a private family estate. The Estate workforce is comprised of forestry and property maintenance teams supported by a Rural estate office team. The Estate also has a substantial portfolio of residential, commercial, and agricultural properties.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Woodsperson to join our small, friendly, and established team, at a very exciting time in the history of woodland management of the Estate. The work is varied and covers all aspects of woodland management, in predominantly broadleaf woodland.

Duties include:

  • Maintenance and establishment of woodland and its associated habitats.
  • Coppicing, thinning and small-scale harvesting.
  • Landscape maintenance, hedgerow management and specimen tree management.

About You

You will need:

  • Tree felling experience.
  • A chainsaw qualification.
  • Good health & safety awareness.
  • A passion for the outdoors and working in this environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • The ability to learn and develop new skills and work within a team.
  • A full clean driving licence and own transport, as we are in a rural location, with no public transport links.
