We are seeking a skilled and versatile Handy Man to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of technical abilities, including electrical, mechanical, and welding skills, to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will be valued and utilised to maintain high standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Must hold a full UK Driving license with no penalties.
- Must be open to travel between our sites working to a timetable agreed in advance.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs across various facilities and equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Perform welding tasks using appropriate techniques to repair or modify structures and machinery.
- Manage electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ensuring proper operation and safety compliance.
- Oversee general mechanical maintenance, including the replacement of parts and system adjustments.
- Supervise maintenance activities, providing guidance to junior team members where necessary.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and organisational policies.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal or external client requests promptly and professionally.
- Lead small teams during maintenance projects, demonstrating leadership and organisational skills.
Skills
- Strong understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience with carpentry and welding techniques suitable for industrial or commercial environments.
- Electrical experience with a solid grasp of electrical safety standards.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery maintenance and repair.
