Grow with Treefera. We are a first-mile intelligence platform, delivering granular visibility into the point of origin in global ag & soft commodity supply chains - where risk, cost, performance and exposure are set.

You’ll join a global, cross-functional team that values rigour, curiosity and working close to real-world challenges. Whether your focus is AI, climate, product or operations, you’ll have space to contribute meaningfully and make an impact from day one.

If you’re excited by complex problems and want to help reshape how nature is valued in real-world decision-making, we’d love to hear from you.

Role overview

Take full ownership of the intelligence Treefera delivers to the market — from the validation papers that defend our commodity and regional methodology to the monthly insight our clients rely on — driving the entire production cycle from model analysis to final publication.

Who you are

  • You are a strong technical writer who can turn complex, technical models into narratives a client can read, trust and act on.
  • You bring deep, practical knowledge of commodity markets — how prices move, and how supply and demand play out across regions and seasons.
  • You can get inside what a model is doing and explain its methodology and performance accurately, without losing the reader.
  • You take full ownership of an output — comfortable being the last set of eyes before a paper is published, not one reviewer in a chain.
  • You work effectively without a fixed long-term roadmap, setting your own priorities and staying proactive as client demand shifts.

Desirable requirements (if applicable):

  • A background in science, which makes it easier to get under the hood of our models.
  • Experience at a firm that publishes market summaries or commodity reporting — a commodity desk, a market-data provider, or a similar market-publication outfit.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted drafting and research workflows — we use them today and are actively refining them.

What the job involves

  • Own the validation papers — refresh them for every existing model and produce them for each new model and iteration, explaining the methodology and performance in clear, client-ready language.
  • Own the monthly market insight — produce the monthly sentiment papers on the commodities we model, covering supply, demand and the market and political factors that move prices.
  • Monitor the markets proactively — track the commodities we cover and flag significant events, from weather to official crop estimates, that are worth communicating to clients.
  • Partner with Product Marketing — turn your market views into newsletters, bulletins and campaigns, judging when an event is worth publishing.
  • Work closely with the Science & AI team — understand each model in depth so your papers reflect exactly what it does and why it performs.

What success looks like

  • In your first 30 days you'll be close to the commodities we model and up to speed on how our validation papers and market insight come together.
  • By 60 days you're producing: your first monthly market insight out on cadence, and a validation paper refresh underway.
  • By 90 days that work is published, and you're flagging the market events worth communicating — the proactive commodity voice the team doesn't have today.
  • By six months you own the full production cycle for both outputs, running on a consistent, reliable cadence.
  • By twelve months clients are giving direct, positive feedback on your papers, your insight is generating inbound interest, and the Science & AI team has genuinely won back time for research.

Who you’ll work with

You’ll report to Jonathan and partner day-to-day with the Science & AI team, Product Marketing, and Sales & Marketing, while working closely with our clients — the people who read and act on what you publish.
