As the Technical Sales Advisor, you will be the first port of call for customer support, helping identify the correct product for various applications.
You will also be commercially responsible for the prices sold to customers where standard sales terms are not in place.
Duties include serving as the face of the business, assisting customers, maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Quoting customers and processing won jobs through to completion
- Identifying the correct product for various customer applications – across a broad range of supplier brands
- Dealing with customer enquiries whether received via email, phone or trade counter
- Building relationships with new and existing clients, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these needs
- Maintaining sales processes from initial enquiry through to completion of orders.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with existing clients
- Maintaining a strong understanding of the company’s products and services – with the technical skills to apply solutions to customer requirements
- Dealing with general customer queries or issues relating to any orders.
- Where relevant, highlight any large sales opportunities to account managers.
- Action sales quoting activity and customer database updates using the company CRM system.
- Maintain ownership of new sales proposals through to completion and delivery, ensuring good customer communication and satisfaction.
- Review open orders regularly to ensure goods are dispatched in as timely a manner as possible
- Other Requirements
- A reasonable amount of additional (unpaid) hours will be expected during peaks of activity to ensure business objectives are met.
- Any other reasonable duties, as requested by your Manager, to meet the changing needs of the business.
- To manage your own performance in terms of timekeeping, attendance, accuracy of work, quality and compliance with procedures.
- To comply with all legal requirements in respect of health and safety of yourself and others.
- Demonstrate good human relations both within the team and to other departments.
Qualifications
Education / Qualifications
- Minimum Grade C or above in GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Work Experience
- At least 2 years' experience in a sales-related role
- Experience working with technical products and services
- Experience working to sales targets
- Experience working in the pump industry
