The predicted salary is between 20000 - 30000 £ per year.

The objective of this role is to perform analysis of flavour and fragrance raw materials that pass through the Quality Control laboratory. This encompasses predominantly the analysis of these oils for Fragrance Allergens to ensure our customers can use our products within the current regulations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Quantifying Fragrance Allergens within our products for the purpose of enabling our customers to suitably dose our products in various fragrance applications using GCMS‑FID.
  • Performing Boiling point analysis on our products to ensure our products are compliant with all REACH regulations.
  • Performing and assessing the routine instrument validations to ensure systems are fit for use, including upkeep of the routine instrument validation logs.
  • Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of utilised GCMS instrumentation and upkeep of the instrument maintenance log.
  • Preparation of standard materials required for the calibration of instruments and methods and performing the subsequent calibrations, including upkeep of the calibration logs.
  • Performing routine daily checks as prescribed to ensure the laboratory and instrumentation is in an appropriate state for work.
  • Performing pipette calibrations and updating the spreadsheet appropriately.
  • Follow any task and request linked to technical projects as requested by the Principal Method Development Chemist.

General tasks within the department:

  • Partaking in sensory evaluation including odour and taste panels on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that the working area in the laboratory is maintained in a clean and orderly condition and that any hazard or potential hazard is reported to the Principal Method Development Chemist, Area Leads, Quality Control or Formulation Manager.
  • Report any faults or deficiencies in equipment or analytical practices to the Principal Method Development Chemist, Area Leads, Quality Control, or Formulation Manager.
  • Maintain your own and other staff’s health and safety at all times ensuring a safe working environment.
  • As necessary undergo training on routine analysis techniques.
  • Undergo training in areas specific to Treatt plc business as required.
  • Perform such other tasks that may be required from time to time.
