Purpose of the Role
The Education and Events Manager will lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of TREAT-NMD’s educational events, conferences and advisory committee meetings, ensuring they are aligned with strategic goals and delivered to a high standard. This role oversees logistics, stakeholder engagement, budget management, and team coordination, contributing to the global visibility and impact of TREAT-NMD’s education service lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Programme Development
- Lead the planning and execution of events, conferences, webinars, and advisory committee meetings.
- Ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with the Business Development and Marketing teams to promote events and secure sponsorship.
- Operational Oversight
- Oversee event logistics including venue coordination, speaker management, registration, and technical delivery.
- Lead post‑event reporting, including analysis, impact assessment, and translating complex discussions into meaningful outputs.
- Work with Finance and Operations to manage budgets and ensure timely invoicing.
- Maintain compliance with accreditation bodies and governance frameworks.
- Take on responsibilities in the absence of the Senior Education and Events Manager.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Funding
- Build and maintain relationships with clinicians, researchers, industry partners, patient organisations, and key opinion leaders.
- Liaise with the Education Committee and TACT to align event content with strategic priorities.
- Represent TREAT-NMD at external events and networking opportunities.
- Collaborate with Business Development to secure funding, including unrestricted educational grants.
- Team Leadership
- Line manage and coach the education team, including appraisals, one-to-ones, and team meetings.
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive team culture.
- Support professional development and identify learning needs.

Qualifications and Experience
- Essential:
- Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a leadership role with responsibility for overseeing and directing complex, multi‑stakeholder events or programmes.
- At least 3 years’ experience of line management and task allocation within a project or events environment.
- Experience managing event budgets and overseeing the development of promotional materials and communications.
- Desirable:
- Project management qualification.
- Experience in healthcare, academic, or international settings.
- Familiarity with neuromuscular disease research and patient advocacy.
- Ability to follow scientific or clinical discussions and translate key themes into clear insight reports for funders or industry partners.
Other Information
- International travel required, sometimes at short notice.
- Occasional work outside normal hours.
- Flexibility to undertake additional duties supporting business operations.
Salary: £37,000 to £47,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
