The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Bury St Edmonds area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Shunter Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.
Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 13:00pm starts
Pay Rate: Β£15.94 per hour PAYE
Location: Bury St Edmonds, IP32
Job Type: Ongoing position.
The role:
  • Perform shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations.
  • Safely maneuver vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
  • Conduct pre and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.
  • Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
  • Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
  • Assist with other yard duties as needed.
Requirements:
  • Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
  • Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only)
  • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A safety-first mindset.
