The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Leeds area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Shunter Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team temporarily.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 23:00pm
Pay Rate: Β£19.08 per hour PAYE
Location: Leeds, LS27
Job Type: Temp
The role:
- Perform shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations.
- Safely maneuver vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
- Conduct pre and post operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.
- Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
- Assist with other yard duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
- 1 year on licence and proven experience.
- Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
- Full understanding of WTD legislation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A safety-first mindset.
