At our client, transport safety and compliance sit at the heart of everything they do. Their Transport Development Team plays a vital role in raising standards, strengthening road safety, and shaping positive driver and management behaviours across the business.
They’re now looking for a Transport Development Auditor on a 6-month fixed term contract to join the team and act as a key compliance checkpoint across all sites. This role offers a real opportunity to influence standards, support operational excellence and help shape the future of transport development across our Group.
What you’ll be doing
- Carrying out routine transport audits across all sites, including 28‑day and quarterly reviews
- Preparing for audits remotely using company‑approved systems, followed by on‑site audits as required
- Ensuring Earned Recognition standards (Driver and Vehicle) are met prior to physical site visits
- Collating audit findings and delivering clear, structured feedback to stakeholders
- Presenting audit outcomes and recommendations to site teams and Area‑level leadership
- Creating and maintaining audit records in line with DVSA and ISO standards
- Identifying training and development needs for site transport teams
- Supporting succession planning by highlighting future talent for transport roles
- Ensuring audits are delivered consistently, fairly and within agreed timeframes
- Contributing to wider Transport Development initiatives and projects
- Keeping up to date with legislative changes and industry best practice through continuous professional development
What you’ll bring to the role
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Confident in using Microsoft Office packages
- Professional Competency in Transport Management (CPC) with relevant experience is desirable
- Experience managing processes in a fast‑paced operational environment
- Strong understanding of Operator License obligations is desirable
- Proven experience in using TACHO master is desirable
- Proven ability to analyse data, collate information and influence stakeholders
- Experience creating efficient systems and ways of working
- Confident creating and delivering content across a range of transport topics
- Ability to influence through data and insight to all levels across the organisation
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong cross‑referencing skills
- Experience supporting and driving change management
