Location: Stourport (with travel as required)
Hours of work: 7.00am to 4.00pm (30 Minutes lunch) Monday to Thursday, 7.00am to 1.00pm on Fridays.
Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Sales & Marketing Manager to take ownership of the day‑to‑day management and performance of our sales function. This role is less about direct selling and more about ensuring the sales team operates effectively, consistently, and to a high standard. You will play a key role in improving systems, driving accountability, implementing KPIs, and supporting business growth through structured management and marketing activity. The successful candidate will also contribute to marketing initiatives, including social media presence and exhibitions, helping strengthen our brand within the conveyor and materials handling industry.
Responsibilities and Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Operations & Team Management
- Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the sales department
- Ensure consistent standards in customer communication, CRM usage, and reporting
- Support and guide the sales team to improve performance and efficiency
- Introduce structure, discipline, and best practice into daily sales activities
- Work closely with the Sales Director to align team performance with company objectives
- Performance & KPI Management
- Design and implement clear, measurable KPIs across the sales function
- Monitor performance and provide regular reporting and insights
- Link KPIs to structured bonus and incentive schemes
- Identify performance gaps and implement improvements
- Systems & Process Improvement
- Review existing systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies
- Implement improvements to CRM usage, reporting processes, and data quality
- Drive better use of sales data to support forecasting and decision‑making
- Ensure accurate and meaningful capture of customer and market intelligence
- Marketing & Brand Support
- Support and coordinate social media activity (LinkedIn, etc.)
- Assist in planning and organising industry exhibitions and events
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent brand messaging
- Identify marketing opportunities to increase visibility within key sectors
- Customer & Industry Engagement
- Occasionally travel to visit customers and support key relationships
- Represent the business professionally within the industry
- Gain an understanding of customer needs, market trends, and opportunities
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Experience managing or coordinating a sales function or similar operational role
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Experience with reporting, data analysis, and performance tracking
- Ability to introduce structure, processes, and accountability
- Confident working with CRM systems and sales data
- Professional, confident personality with the ability to engage internal teams and customers
Desirable
- Experience within conveyor systems, manufacturing, or engineering environments
- Understanding of technical products and B2B sales processes
- Experience implementing or managing KPIs and incentive schemes
- Exposure to marketing activities, particularly social media and exhibitions
- Experience organising or attending trade shows
