Our Client are a leading British Manufacturer within the Materials Handling sector. Currently recruiting for a Quality Systems Engineer.
Hours of work: 7.00am to 4.00pm (30 Minutes lunch) Monday to Thursday, 7.00am to 1.00pm on Fridays.
Primary Location: Stourport
The Role
- Maintain, develop and continually improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Ensure documented information (procedures, work instructions, forms, records) is controlled, current and aligned to the relevant ISO standards.
- Plan, schedule and lead the internal audit programme; manage non-conformities, corrective actions and root cause analysis to closure.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external certification bodies; coordinate and host surveillance and recertification audits.
- Prepare and present Management Review inputs and outputs in line with ISO requirements.
Legal & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain a legal register of applicable UK Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety legislation (e.g. Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, Environmental Protection Act 1990, COSHH, RIDDOR, Waste Regulations, product‑specific regulations).
- Monitor changes in legislation and ensure that policies, procedures and operational practices remain compliant.
The Candidate
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in a quality / QHSE / management systems role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Qualified Internal Auditor (IRCA/CQI or equivalent); Lead Auditor qualification desirable.
- Sound knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation applicable to manufacturing.
- Experience managing external certification audits.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of the organisation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and document control systems.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline.
- Membership of CQI, IEMA or IOSH.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above).
- Experience implementing or migrating to electronic QMS platforms.
