About the Role:
We are looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Business Development Manager to develop and grow our Client’s customer base across the North East. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven salesperson to represent a comprehensive coffee solution, combining Traditional Coffee Machines, Bean-to-Cup Coffee Machines, Freshly Roasted Coffee and Market-Leading Service and Maintenance Packages. You will be responsible for developing new business across your territory while building strong, long-term relationships with customers. Rather than simply selling equipment, you will be offering customers a complete coffee solution covering equipment, coffee supply, servicing and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying and winning new business opportunities across the territory
- Proactively prospecting and developing your own sales pipeline
- Attending customer meetings, site visits and equipment demonstrations
- Understanding customers' requirements and recommending the most appropriate coffee and equipment solution
- Selling Traditional and Bean-to-Cup Coffee Machines
- Growing recurring Freshly Roasted Coffee sales
- Promoting Service, Maintenance and Warranty Packages
- Preparing quotations and commercial proposals
- Negotiating and closing new business
- Developing strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers
- Managing opportunities from initial contact through to installation and ongoing supply
- Working closely with service, engineering and operations teams to ensure an excellent customer experience
- Maintaining accurate CRM records, pipeline information and sales forecasts
- Achieving agreed sales, margin and new-business targets
- Developing the territory strategically and identifying new sectors and routes to market
Requirements:
- Previous experience in field sales or business development
- Experience within the coffee, commercial coffee machine, vending, catering equipment, foodservice or hospitality sector would be highly advantageous
- A proven track record of winning new business
- Strong prospecting and lead-generation skills
- The confidence to approach and engage new customers
- Strong presentation, negotiation and closing skills
- A consultative approach to selling
- The ability to sell on quality, service and total value, rather than price alone
- Strong territory and diary-management skills
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of margin and recurring revenue
- The ability to work independently while contributing to the wider team
- A full UK driving licence
