The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-known and established general haulage business based in Newton Aycliffe. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 2 (CAT C) Drivers to join the team.
Location: Newton Aycliffe, DL5
Job Type: Ongoing work / Temp to Perm opportunities available
Pay Rates:
- Class 2 (CAT C): £14.50 per hour (PAYE)
- £16.25 per hour (including rolled up holiday pay)
Additional Payments:
- £25 Night Out Allowance (applicable to all drivers completing nights out / tramping)
Shift Patterns & Start Times:
- Start times available from 03:00 onwards (typically latest start 08:00)
- 2 night out per week required
The Role:
- General haulage work across commercial and residential deliveries - multi-drop
- Operating curtainsider vehicles
- Vehicles are pre-loaded on arrival to site
- Assisting with offloading where required
- Minimal handball involved overall
- Occasional use of pallet truck and tail lift
- Nationwide deliveries and collections
- Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on time
Requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 2 (CAT C) licence
- Minimum 1 year driving experience required
- Maximum 6 points for minor offences only
- Valid CPC and Digi Card
- Good understanding of driver hours and regulations
