We are currently hiring MIG/TIG Welders to join a leading manufacturer. You will be in a busy workshop environment and responsible for performing high-quality welds, using MIG and TIG techniques, to fabricate and assemble metal components.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday 7am-1pm

Rate: £15.19

Type: Temp ongoing

Location: Lye, DY9

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute precise MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials, including mild and hard steel.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment efficiently.
  • Assist in the assembly of components, ensuring proper fit and finish according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Responsible for completion of a wide range of fabrications to meet powder coating schedules/production requirements.
  • Welding mild and hard steel ranging from 2.5mm to 20mm.
  • Ensure tooling, jigs and fixtures are fit for purpose and meet production requirements to produce components to the required standard.
  • Ensure housekeeping of work area is maintained.
  • Follow responsibilities as listed in Quality Control Manual and procedures to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 requirements.
  • Advise Department Section Leader of defective tooling, jigs or fixtures or manufacturing problems that prevent production targets being achieved.
  • Responsible for the manufacture of fabrications to drawings or customer requirements.
  • Assist in working for other departments when necessary.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties in the welding area.

Requirements:

  • Reliability and good communication skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Experienced MIG/TIG Welder.
  • Confident carrying out fillet welds on various types of steel and tube.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, although training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • IT literate.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
