DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve patients at our Dover Dialysis Center in Dover, OH.

Some Details about this Position

• Operational Hours: Mon‑Sat 4:00 am – 6:30 pm (12‑hour shifts, must be available at any hours within these ranges). Schedule can vary based on patient census.
• PCT shifts for this clinic: 3–4 days per week with a minimum of two Saturdays per month; can be asked to start as early as 3:00 am.
• Hours may vary during the training period; typically 32–40 hours per week.
• Clinic has 16 chairs with a typical patient ratio of 5:1 per dialysis tech (can vary).
• Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Paid Training: DaVita offers all new dialysis teammates a robust, paid training program (classroom and hands‑on).
• Reimbursement for Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license.
• PCTs find DaVita professionally fulfilling; offer clear paths to higher responsibility and compensation through the clinical ladder.
• Training may take place in a facility or training clinic with a class of new teammates other than your assigned home clinic.

Requirements

• Dependable, reliable, attendance crucial; comfortable in high‑stress, fast‑paced environments; desire to help critically ill patients; long‑term career focus; comfort with early shifts and long hours on feet.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working around blood and needles.
• Comfortable mixing acid or bicarbonate.
• Flexibility and availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts 12+ hours) on feet; comfortable shoes required.
• Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
• Health care experience preferred: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

What You Can Expect

• Direct Patient Care: Majority of day in one‑on‑one patient care, up to 4–5 patients at a time.
• Technician Duties: Morning opening PCT prepares water room, bicarb, tests water for chlorine, calibrates tools; monitors patients before, during, and after dialysis; records stats and observations; sets up machine.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 5–50 pounds unassisted; repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching; communication with patients and phone; use of computer and peripherals.
• Continuous Improvement: Consistently look for ways to improve processes for patients and teammates.
• Building Long‑Term Relationships: Educate patients on kidney dialysis topics; patients treated ~3 times per week.
• Team: Cross‑functional team of clinicians (technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, leadership); supervised by RN.
• Schedule: Shifts can begin as early as 3:00 am and vary based on patient needs; expected shift details shared during interview.
