Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to oversee the delivery of renewable energy projects, including solar PV, battery storage, and associated infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from initial handover through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple renewable energy projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, budgets, and risk registers
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams
- Coordinate with all internal departments as required
- Provide clear and regular project updates to senior management and clients
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project sites
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, ISO 45001 and company policies
- Manage contracts, variations, and change control processes
- Monitor costs and cash flow, identifying and mitigating financial risks
- Support procurement activities and contractor management
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are implemented
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and final handover documentation
- Identify lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, ideally within renewable energy, construction & infrastructure
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Collaborative, efficient approach
- Experience in solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or renewable energy projects
- Knowledge of UK planning, grid connection, and construction processes
- Relevant project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, APM)
- CDM knowledge or certification
