Overview
TRC is looking for an experienced ADMS Engineering Leader to join our Intelligent Grid Solutions team in the EMEA Delivery team supporting the Energy Control Systems (ECS) practice.
This role is a senior delivery position focused on the successful execution of complex Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) programmes for European utilities, combining deep hands-on expertise across SCADA, OMS, DMS and DERMS systems with delivery leadership across multi-vendor environments.
Responsibilities
- Delivery Leadership
- Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale ADMS programmes (SCADA, OMS, DMS, DERMS)
- Own end-to-end delivery across multi-vendor ecosystems (e. g., Schneider, GE, Siemens, Oracle, etc.)
- Ensure delivery meets schedule, budget, quality, and performance objectives
- Work closely with TRC’s dedicated delivery organization to scale and execute programmes
- Engineering & Technical Leadership
• Provide expert-level oversight across
- SCADA (telemetry, real-time control, ICCP, communications)
- DMS (load flow, FLISR, Volt/VAR optimization, switching)
- OMS (fault detection, outage lifecycle, restoration workflows)
- DERMS (DER visibility, flexibility, distributed energy integration)
• Guide critical design decisions including
- Network modelling (CIM, topology vs connectivity)
- Integration architecture (IEC standards, APIs, event-driven integration)
- Real-time system performance, resilience, and availability
- Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Establish delivery standards, engineering best practices, and reusable assets
- Support capability growth within the Energy Control Systems practice
- Collaborate across practices (Smart, Markets, GIS, IT/OT Integration)
- Client Engagement
- Act as trusted advisor to utility stakeholders (IT, OT, and operations)
- Lead design workshops, steering committees, and technical governance forums
- Translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes and value
- Expand customer relationships to drive continued engagement
- Integration & Cross-Practice Collaboration
• Drive integration across
- GIS (network model alignment)
- AMI/Smart systems (event and outage data flows)
- Markets (flexibility and DER participation)
- Enterprise IT systems
- Ensure alignment with client enterprise architecture and digital strategy
- Technical Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate technical risks specific to ADMS delivery with the PM, including:
- Data quality and network model challenges
- Integration complexity across OT/IT boundaries
- Real-time system performance and stability
- Implement structured mitigation and contingency strategies
- Innovation and Technology Trends
- Stay current with ADMS vendor evolution and industry trends
- Promote innovation in grid operations
- Vendor technology expertise
- Contribute to development of TRC delivery accelerators and methodologies
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology from an accredited school or university.
- 12+ years of consultancy, advisory and/or delivery experience is required. A significant portion of this experience is expected to come from the utility industry.
- Experience with ADMS vendors is essential.
- Deep knowledge of SCADA, DMS, OMS, DERMS and grid operations.
- Strong understanding of CIM standards, IEC protocols, and integration architectures.
- Experience leading large-scale programmes and multi-vendor environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams and influence executive-level stakeholders.
- Experience with cloud or hybrid OT architectures is desirable
- Excellent knowledge of business processes and IT/OT architecture.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- In depth technical experience and utility industry knowledge.
- Collaborative nature and willing to share knowledge across broader teams while contributing to reusable collateral.
- Mentor and develop other resources on the team.
- Conceptualize solutions across multiple business functions, processes and technical domains.
- Ability to influence decisions.
- Ability to interact with client teams at all levels within the organization including executives and client sponsors to the end users of the system.
- Experience with utility standards such as IEC-60870-5-104, ICCP, IEC 61968/ 61970/62325 (CIM)
- Travel: Up to 50% travel throughout Europe.
Compensation : In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition.
Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation
Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
