Our practice within TRC offers a broad range of services to enable, support and facilitate portfolio, program and project management within organizations across a range of industry sectors (including construction, transportation, defense and utilities). The Technical Specialist teams bring decades of combined expertise in the EPPM space, offering consultancy, guidance, and deep technical specialization in project management tools and supporting technologies. We foster a positive and collaborative working culture, where teamwork and mutual support drive our success. As a remote-first team, most of our work is conducted from home. However, we occasionally meet in person and some travel to client sites may be required. For certain clients, SC clearance may be necessary. Therefore, you must be UK-based and either hold, or be eligible to obtain, SC clearance.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Technical Specialist to join our team. This varied role is critical in ensuring the seamless delivery of our services to our clients. You will contribute to a range of implementation projects from minor enhancements through to major enterprise system builds. You will also investigate and resolve tier 3 issues and perform Business-as-Usual (Bau) activities. You will work across a small number of clients getting to know their systems, people and business. You will collaborate with team members across internal functions, clients, suppliers and partners.
Responsibilities
- Project Work: Defining and implementing tasks for enhancement and implementation projects.
- Tier 3 Support: Investigating and resolving complex technical issues and challenges escalated from the Technical Customer Support team.
- Bau Activities: Developing and executing Business-as-Usual activities, including system patching/updates, conducting security reviews, and overseeing the creation of client reports.
- Client Engagement: Responding to client needs on an ad-hoc basis and attending scheduled client meetings as required.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance all aspects of our service delivery.
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining clear, concise, and professional documentation to support service delivery and project work.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical field.
- Tier 3 Issue Resolution (Required): Proven ability to address challenging and complex technical issues. Experience in collaborating across teams and organizations, including engaging with vendors, developers, peers, and clients, to drive issue resolution effectively.
- Implementation experience (Required): Experience of implementing changes and new build/deployments.
- Oracle implementation and support experience (Highly desirable): We work with various Oracle products, primarily the Primavera P6 suite of tools and Fusion middleware (particularly WebLogic). General experience of deploying and supporting any Oracle application and working with Oracle Support.
- Project management tools experience (Desirable): Experience using or implementing any industry-standard project management tools is desirable.
- General IT: Solid foundation of general IT skills and experience.
- Windows (Required): Experience with basic administration of Windows OS.
- Linux (Desirable): Experience of basic administration of Linux OS.
- Networking (Highly desirable): Solid understanding of networking concepts and experience of troubleshooting around TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
- System monitoring and management (Desirable): Experience with capacity/performance management, monitoring, and alerting tools.
- ITIL (Desirable): Experience of working within an ITIL framework, particularly change management.
- Cybersecurity (Desirable): Experience of working in security-focused environments.
- Cloud/hybrid (Desirable): Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms such as Oracle Integration Cloud, Azure etc.
- IT ticketing systems (Desirable): Submitting and managing tickets and requests within tools like ServiceNow, Zendesk.
- Programming/Scripting: Basic (Required): Familiarity with writing and maintaining basic code and scripts. Intermediate/Advanced (desirable): Knowledge of popular languages, code management concepts, experience writing/maintaining custom applications or integrations.
- Specific technologies: Database (Highly desirable): Experience working with Oracle database and/or SQL Server, including writing SQL queries and basic scripts. Oracle Fusion (Highly desirable): Particularly experience with WebLogic/Java including deploying applications, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and Java capacity/performance tuning.

Paid time off contingent upon full time or part time status and level of seniority (ranging from 15 to 25 days per year). All full-time employees enjoy a minimum of 8 Paid Holidays per year. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
