The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

To support our continued growth we are looking to appoint a Geo-environmental or Geotechnical Graduate / Consultant to support the delivery of project assignments. The ideal candidate will be an early career professional with experience in site investigations. They should hold a full UK driving license and be willing and able to travel throughout the UK for project assignments. There may also be options for overseas travel to support our clients’ projects globally.

Location can be Bristol, London or Manchester. Regardless of location, the candidate should expect to travel both to client sites and other TRC offices across the UK.

Supervision of site investigations including:

  • Oversight of drilling contractors performing works using various drilling techniques – windowless sampler, cable percussive, rotary, sonic and cone penetration testing.
  • Oversight of contractors performing trial pitting including machine and hand excavated pits.
  • Logging to British Standards and preparation of environmental and geotechnical logging records in Open Ground.
  • Performing field testing using methods such as hand penetrometer, handheld Dynamic Cone Penetrometer, environmental screening using Photo-Ionization Detector (PID).
  • Sampling of soils for geo-environmental and geotechnical laboratory analysis.
  • Groundwater monitoring using dip meter, interface probe.
  • Groundwater sampling using disposal bailers and low flow methodologies.
  • Ground gas and soil vapor monitoring using a landfill gas analyzer and a PID.
  • Writing up site data to support report writing.
  • Preparing desk study reports and conducting site walkovers for Tier 1 reports and due diligence purposes.
  • Preparing Tier 2 reports including factual reporting on site investigation works, data screening, preliminary risk assessment.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a project team with excellent problem solving and writing skills.
  • Must possess a UK driving license and be willing to travel within the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSc or higher (preferably post-graduate qualification, such as MSc) in geology, geo-environmental or geotechnical engineering type discipline.
  • Understanding of relevant contaminated land guidance LCRM, NHBC, CIRIA, Eurocode and British Standards.

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other compensation may include participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
