Reporting to the Enterprise Tax Director, the In-House Tax Advisor will be responsible for end-to-end tax compliance for the Trayport group, ensuring timely and accurate submission of all tax filings and supporting strategic tax initiatives. This role covers corporate tax, international tax, transfer pricing, R&D claims, VAT, and employment taxes.
Key Responsibilities- Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Manage all corporate tax compliance requirements across the UK, Austria, Germany, and Singapore.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of tax returns, calculations, and supporting documentation.
- Oversee VAT/GST compliance in all relevant jurisdictions, including UK VAT and international equivalents.
- Manage employment tax obligations, including PAYE Settlement agreements, benefits reporting, share scheme returns and cross-border employee tax considerations.
- Lead US sales tax compliance processes, including nexus assessments and filings (with support from external advisors where necessary).
- International Tax & Transfer Pricing
- Maintain and assist in the group transfer pricing documentation process, including master file, local files, and intercompany agreements.
- Support planning and implementation of global tax strategies, including cross-border structuring and tax-efficient operational models.
- Monitor global tax developments affecting the group and support proactive risk management.
- R&D and Patent Box Tax Relief
- Lead the preparation and submission of R&D and Patent box tax credit claims, ensuring compliance with UK and international rules as applicable.
- Work closely with internal teams to identify qualifying projects and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Tax Advisory & Business Support
- Provide day-to-day tax guidance to the business, including on new products, commercial contracts, and cross-border matters.
- Liaise with external tax advisors on complex or country-specific issues.
- Develop and implement internal tax controls, policies, and process improvements.
- Support statutory audits and respond to tax authority queries and audits.
- Professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA) or equivalent international certification.
- Proven experience with tax compliance in a large corporation operating in multiple jurisdictions (UK, EU, and/or APAC preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge across corporate tax, R&D tax incentives, transfer pricing international tax, VAT/GST, employment taxes, and US sales tax.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
