Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the DevEx central team, setting direction, priorities, and standards.
- Define and deliver the roadmap for developer platform capabilities (CI/CD, deployment, developer portals).
- Champion developer productivity across engineering, continuously identifying and removing friction.
- Partner with Platform, Security, and Engineering teams to ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and resilient.
- Platform Ownership:
- Continuous integration and delivery.
- Deployment and release management.
- Artefact management and supply chain security.
- Developer self-service and internal platforms.
- Ensure platforms are reliable, scalable, and aligned to modern engineering practices.
- Drive standardisation and best practices across the software delivery lifecycle.
- Provide architectural guidance on build, deployment, and delivery patterns.
- Support teams in designing efficient, secure, and scalable pipelines.
- Act as an escalation point for complex platform or developer workflow issues.
- Improve developer self-service through automation and reusable patterns.
What You Bring
- Experience:
- Proven experience leading technical teams in DevOps, SRE, or Developer Experience.
- Strong track record improving developer productivity at scale.
- Experience operating in cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS).
- Deep understanding of software delivery practices, including CI/CD (Azure DevOps and Github), infrastructure-as-code, and container platforms.
- Repository configuration and management (Nexus).
- Strong knowledge across:
- CI/CD and deployment patterns.
- Kubernetes and containerised workloads.
- Infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform).
- Source control and build systems.
- Solid scripting or programming skills (PowerShell).
- Understanding of security fundamentals in the software delivery lifecycle (e.g. identity, access, supply chain security).
- Focused on outcomes over tools.
- Pragmatic and able to balance speed, quality, and risk.
- Strong communicator who can influence engineers and stakeholders.
- Naturally curious, with a drive to continuously improve how things are done.
