The focus is simple: remove friction, increase productivity, and ensure the developer platform is secure, reliable, and scalable. You’ll own the strategy and evolution of core engineering capabilities across CI/CD, deployment and developer platforms. Acting as both team lead and product owner, you’ll align platform direction with developer needs and business priorities. This is a hands‑on leadership role. You’ll guide the team, shape technical direction, and step in on complex challenges where needed.
What You’ll Do

- Define and deliver the roadmap for developer platform capabilities (CI/CD, deployment, developer portals)
- Champion developer productivity across engineering, continuously identifying and removing friction
- Partner with Platform, Security, and Engineering teams to ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and resilient
- Platform Ownership
- Own and evolve the internal developer platform across:
- Continuous integration and delivery
- Deployment and release management
- Artefact management and supply chain security
- Developer self‑service and internal platforms
- Ensure platforms are reliable, scalable, and aligned to modern engineering practices
- Drive standardisation and best practices across the software delivery lifecycle
- Provide architectural guidance on build, deployment, and delivery patterns
- Support teams in designing efficient, secure, and scalable pipelines
- Act as an escalation point for complex platform or developer workflow issues
- Improve developer self‑service through automation and reusable patterns
Experience What You Bring
- Proven experience leading technical teams in DevOps, SRE, or Developer Experience
- Strong track record improving developer productivity at scale
- Experience operating in cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS)
- Deep understanding of software delivery practices, including CI/CD (Azure DevOps and Github), infrastructure‑as‑code, and container platforms
- Repository configuration and management (Nexus)
Technical Capability
- Strong knowledge across:
- CI/CD and deployment patterns
- Kubernetes and containerised workloads
- Infrastructure‑as‑code (e.g. Terraform)
- Source control and build systems
- Solid scripting or programming skills (PowerShell)
- Understanding of security fundamentals in the software delivery lifecycle (e.g. identity, access, supply chain security)
Mindset
- Focused on outcomes over tools
- Pragmatic and able to balance speed, quality, and risk
- Strong communicator who can influence engineers and stakeholders
- Naturally curious, with a drive to continuously improve how things are done
Nice to Have
- Experience with internal developer platforms or portals
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring practices
- Understanding of networking and infrastructure fundamentals
