Are you looking for a summer internship where you are more than just a number? We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive intern to join our Quality Engineering team. This role is the heart of every development team in Trayport and is key to the delivery of our products, helping you use your technical background to build quality across our software.
The Role
Our Quality Engineers use a combination of shift-left and shift-right testing techniques, exploratory testing, technical testing and test automation, working closely with the rest of their team and coaching others on how to write better software. What You’ll Do
- Help define and execute the quality and testing strategy for your team while learning from other team members to ensure software quality is considered throughout the development process.
- Perform session based exploratory testing to find unique bugs that could only be discovered by the most creative people.
- Work closely with the Product Team and developers to ensure we are building the right software for our customers, and embracing a shift-left approach to software quality.
- Enhance and utilise our observability stack and embrace a shift-right approach to software quality.
- Implement risk based testing strategies to ensure we are approaching quality at the correct level.
- Pair with your teammates, expand your knowledge and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, tested, maintainable code.
- Investigate and perform root cause analysis on bugs, putting on your detective hat and diving into the code when necessary.
- Discuss software architecture, and contribute to whiteboard sessions.
- Help developers brainstorm what should be covered in the automated tests, and contribute to automation where appropriate.

The Person
- Currently enrolled in a university degree (e.g., Computer science or STEM-related field).
- On track to achieve a minimum 2.1 degree (or the equivalent) at an accredited college or university.
- Innovative & Proactive: Someone who demonstrates strong initiative and isn’t discouraged by taking on challenges in new areas.
- Strong Communicator: Ability to exhibit clear, professional, and effective communication skills.
- Interested in all things technical with a passion for technology.
- An inquisitive nature, with good analytical and problem solving skills.
