Are you looking for a summer internship where you are more than just a number? We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive intern to join our ISO London Cyber Security team. This role is designed to give you broad exposure to different roles and services, helping you discover your strengths while contributing to a "purpose-driven culture".

What You’ll Do

  • Security Assessments: Perform information security risk and vulnerability management assessments and help identify & implement remediation strategies.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Assist in updating security policies, documentation, and compliance audits.
  • Research: Research emerging cyber threats, malware trends, and document recommended countermeasures.
  • Pen testing: Participate in penetration testing and reporting on exploitable weaknesses.
  • Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor network activity, EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response) and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools for potential security incidents.
  • Engineering: Assist with hardening of systems, identity & access management, and secure configuration of cloud assets within AWS/Azure environments.
  • Project: Deliver an Internship security project (will vary by timeframe and candidate’s skillset).
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Person

  • Currently enrolled in a university degree (e.g., Cyber Security, Computing, Science, or Technology-related field).
  • On track to achieve a minimum 2.1 degree (or the equivalent) at an accredited college or university.
  • Passion & Interest: Passion for cybersecurity and a willingness to learn (e.g., participation in CTF competitions).
  • Innovative & Proactive: Someone who demonstrates strong initiative and isn't discouraged by taking on challenges in new areas.
  • Strong Communicator: Ability to exhibit clear, professional, and effective communication skills.
  • Strong Critical Thinking: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and contributing to solutions.
  • Learning Agility: A quick learner who is adaptable to changing needs and skilled at problem-solving.
  • Testing & Report Writing: Experience of testing and report writing (in any degree related field).
  • Good understanding of OSI model, networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls, IPv4/IPv6) and OS security (Windows/Linux).
  • Good understanding of cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Fundamental understanding of cryptography, authentication protocols, OWASP 10, containerisation or virtualisation.
  • Basic understanding of information security regulations and frameworks such as GDPR, UK Data Protection regulations, ISO27001, NIST, CIS etc.
  • Familiarity with identity/ Role Based Access Controls/ security groups across AD/Entra ID.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with pen testing tools (Nmap, Wireshark, Burp suite, Metasploit, etc.) is a plus.
