Are you a highly analytical and commercially astute finance professional ready to drive maximum value across a major retail estate? We are looking for a Retail & Property Finance Business Partner to play a critical role in enhancing store performance through optimised decision‑making across our retail division. This is a hands‑on role where you will challenge, support, and guide the Retail team to develop and execute sound financial strategies, ensuring every decision is commercially viable and aligned with our ambitious business objectives. You will also be responsible for the management, mentoring, and professional development of the Retail & Property Finance Analyst, fostering a culture of high performance and strong business partnership.

As our Business Partner, your core responsibilities will centre on three key areas:

  • Driving Retail Performance and Efficiency: Partnering with Retail Divisional Directors to influence strategic and operational decisions, with the goal of maximising store sales performance. You will analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify financial drivers, propose actionable recommendations for stores and divisions, and collaboratively control all cost lines to achieve defined efficiency goals.
  • Commercial & Investment Support: Identifying and evaluating initiatives to increase profitability across our entire retail estate. This includes providing financial modelling and investment appraisal for all key retail property initiatives, such as new store openings, relocations, refits, and closures. You will develop compelling business cases for capital expenditure, ensuring a clear return on investment (ROI) for all proposals.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Leading the annual budgeting and quarterly re‑forecasting processes for the retail function. You will produce insightful weekly and monthly performance reporting, complete with detailed variance analysis and narrative‑driven commentary to clearly explain the “why” behind the numbers.

We are looking for someone who is resilient, detail‑oriented, and confident to challenge constructively when necessary. If you are driven to achieve results and thrive in an environment that values teamwork and problem‑solving, we want to hear from you.

You must be an accountancy professional with 1 to 2 years PQE (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or have equivalent relevant experience in a similar role. Prior experience in a commercial environment, demonstrating a broad understanding of business operations and the impact of the finance function. Strong business partnering and stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with excellent analytical capabilities. Proven experience in data management and manipulation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively at all levels of the business. Experience in a large retail or FMCG organisation is advantageous. You’ll also need to be high energy and enthusiastic and you’ll thrive in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

You’ll find every opportunity to be yourself and to bring your personality and potential to work. Wherever you join us, you’ll be able to take your career wherever you want – up the ladder, across the business or into another role in the Travis Perkins Group. And because we want to do our best for you, you’ll be supported all the way with training and development, including apprenticeship, licence to operate and management development programmes. Plus, you’ll receive some fantastic benefits. We offer 25 holidays plus Bank Holidays, a company pension scheme and life assurance, a bonus scheme, cycle to work scheme, save and buy as you earn, 20% discounts across all Travis Perkins companies, financial education and support, family‑friendly policies, recognition awards and discounts at over 1000 other retailers.

Our policy is to employ the best qualified people and provide equal opportunity for the advancement of employees including promotion and training and not to discriminate against any person because of gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, religion, belief or disability.
