Travis Talent Ltd are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Sheffield-based manufacturing business seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their quality team. The Role

  • Working as part of the quality function, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections on incoming materials, work-in-progress components and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
  • You will play a key role in identifying non-conformances, maintaining accurate inspection records and supporting the wider manufacturing team in delivering products to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials, in-process components and finished products.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Record inspection results accurately and maintain quality documentation.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, supporting corrective action activities.
  • Use a range of measuring and inspection equipment to verify product quality.
  • Ensure gauges and inspection equipment remain within calibration requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement activities aimed at enhancing product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Assist with the development and improvement of inspection procedures and work instructions.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues.

The Person

  • Previous experience within a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician or Quality Control role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
  • A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using CMM equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
