Travis Talent Ltd are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Sheffield-based manufacturing business seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their quality team. The Role

Working as part of the quality function, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections on incoming materials, work-in-progress components and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements. You will play a key role in identifying non-conformances, maintaining accurate inspection records and supporting the wider manufacturing team in delivering products to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials, in-process components and finished products.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Record inspection results accurately and maintain quality documentation.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, supporting corrective action activities.
  • Use a range of measuring and inspection equipment to verify product quality.
  • Ensure gauges and inspection equipment remain within calibration requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement activities aimed at enhancing product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Assist with the development and improvement of inspection procedures and work instructions.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues.

The Person

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Previous experience within a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician or Quality Control role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
  • A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using CMM equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
