Travis Talent is delighted to be recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join a well-established business in Chesterfield. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on a role that is predominantly focused on planned preventative maintenance, with breakdowns being a very rare occurrence.
The Role
- Working on a wide range of mechanical equipment, particularly conveyors
- Carrying out PPM to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation of plant and equipment
- Assisting with installations and supporting capital projects when required
- Interrogating PLC systems, or demonstrating the willingness and ability to learn this skill
- Maintaining strong health & safety standards and ensuring compliance with site procedures
- Working collaboratively within the engineering team to achieve departmental objectives
Shift Pattern
Panama day shifts - 12-hour days (6am (or 7am) until 6pm or (7pm), 2-week rotating pattern. Week one = Monday and Tuesday on, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off, and then Saturday and Sunday on. Week two = Monday and Tuesday off, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on, and then Saturday and Sunday off.
The Person
- Time-served engineering qualifications or equivalent experience
- Strong mechanical maintenance background, ideally with conveyors or similar equipment
- Basic PLC knowledge desirable, or a willingness and capability to learn
- Proactive, safety-conscious and able to work effectively as part of a team
