Travis Talent Ltd are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Sheffield-based manufacturing business seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their quality team. The Role
- Working as part of the quality function, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections on incoming materials, work-in-progress components and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
- You will play a key role in identifying non-conformances, maintaining accurate inspection records and supporting the wider manufacturing team in delivering products to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming materials, in-process components and finished products.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Record inspection results accurately and maintain quality documentation.
- Identify and report non-conformances, supporting corrective action activities.
- Use a range of measuring and inspection equipment to verify product quality.
- Ensure gauges and inspection equipment remain within calibration requirements.
- Support continuous improvement activities aimed at enhancing product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Assist with the development and improvement of inspection procedures and work instructions.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues.
The Person
- We are keen to speak with candidates who have previous experience within a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician or Quality Control role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
- A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using CMM equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
