This is a days-only role with no weekend working, making it ideal for engineers looking for stability, work-life balance, and a long-term position within a well-run site.
The Role
Reporting into the Production Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping plant and equipment running efficiently through a mix of planned and reactive maintenance. The position offers genuine variety across electrical and mechanical work in a clean, organised manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant and facilities
- Responding to breakdowns efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Supporting planned maintenance schedules and annual service planning
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with HSE regulations and current electrical standards (18th Edition)
- Electrical installation work, including testing and certification where required
- Coordinating with external contractors during servicing and specialist maintenance
- Periodic testing of emergency lighting and thermal imaging of distribution boards
What We're Looking For
This role would suit a hands-on, methodical engineer who enjoys being part of a close-knit team and takes pride in doing things properly. You'll ideally have:
- A recognised electrical qualification
- 18th Edition wiring regulations
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
- The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively
- A well-organised approach with the flexibility to react to urgent issues
- Additional training such as FLT, MEWP, ladder or scaffold is advantageous, but not essential for the right person.
