Forklift Service Engineer
Chesterfield Travis Talent are recruiting for a skilled and motivated Forklift Service Engineer to join a well-established engineering business based in Chesterfield. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong mechanical skills to work with a respected company known for its high-quality products and commitment to technical excellence. This role offers flexibility to be home-based or factory-based. Using a fully equipped company van, youll be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of a range of specialised forklift trucks at customer sites across the UK. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Chesterfield (S43) will be ideally placed for this position. Youll receive full product training and join an experienced team that values reliability, precision, and proactive problem-solving. The company offers strong support while maintaining high expectations and performance standards. Key Responsibilities
Attend customer sites to diagnose faults and carry out repairs.
Undertake preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
Conduct Thorough Examinations in line with statutory standards.
Work safely and efficiently in accordance with issued RAMS.
Communicate effectively with site managers and clients during visits.
Liaise with the parts department to maintain adequate stock levels in your van.
About You
Proven experience maintaining or repairing forklifts, agricultural, or industrial trucks.
Strong mechanical and diagnostic ability, including hydro-electrical circuit experience.
Computer literacy, with confidence using service software and reporting tools.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence essential.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to high work standards.
Whats on Offer
Salary: £35,000
£40,000 per year, depending on experience.
Permanent role, 39 hours per week (Monday to Friday only).
No weekend or evening callouts.
24 days holiday plus bank holidays.
