As a Hire Fitter/Driver at Travis Perkins, you will play a vital role in supporting our Hire Manager to ensure compliance with all mechanical and electrical processes related to repairing and testing tools and equipment to the Travis Perkins Tool Hire standard.
This multi-skilled role involves ensuring all tools and hire equipment are tested, safe for use, and readily available for hire. You will support your Hire Manager in managing all aspects of their department and business. Responsibilities include delivering and collecting a wide variety of tools and equipment to our customers. Using your knowledge of our products and services, you will be a key contact for customers, nurturing relationships, understanding their needs, and offering expert advice, including recommending alternatives to maximize sales.
Safety is paramount. You will need to adhere to all Tool Hire processes and procedures, including audits and inspections.
What experience do you need?
Previous experience in the Plant and Hire Industry or a good understanding of electrical, petrol, and diesel equipment is advantageous but not essential. Transferable skills such as customer service and sales experience are valued. A full clean UK driving licence is required.
