Join to apply for the Warehouse/Driver role at Travis Perkins plc
A busy and fast paced business with great benefits, and plenty of opportunities for career progression – join BSS as a Driver/Warehouse Assistant and share our success and good times with a hard-working, friendly bunch of people.
The role
Come and join our team – delivering a great service to our customers. We have a lot of regular long standing customers together with the new ones and the ones we see less frequently – but we strive to deliver an exceptional experience to every single one of them.
There are two aspects to this role and your ability to adapt to each will demand flexibility and a can do attitude. Being a Driver/Warehouse Assistant takes a lot of character. It calls for someone who enjoys working with people and has the enthusiasm it takes to deliver more than just goods, but a fantastic service too. The role is varied with no two days being the same. One minute you will be loading your vehicle and delivering goods to a range of different places, other days you will be unloading supplier deliveries, picking orders or serving customers on the trade counter. In addition, in this branch you will support our colleagues working on the trade counter with face to face customer interaction.
The person
You’ll need a clean driving licence first and foremost and be over 21 years of age due to our insurance restrictions. Whilst driving our vehicles you are the face of the business/branch and the way in which you represent the company is just as important as the products you deliver. A positive attitude and professional manner is a must. A confident customer focused demeanour is essential as is the passion to deliver a great service with your team colleagues every day. Ideally you will have multi drop driving experience, have warehouse experience or have a background in face to face customer service. But above all you will be personable, have a desire to learn and have a motivated work ethic.
The Benefits
- 22 days annual leave plus bank holiday (extra day at milestone anniversaries)
- Annual salary reviews
- Opportunity to earn a branch/performance based bonus
- Contributory pension scheme
- Life Assurance and ShareSave scheme
- Colleague discounts across a variety of Group businesses including special discounts of 20% in Tool Station and Tool Hire
- HUNDREDS of discounts with a wide range of partners – food shopping, holidays, eating out, cinema, retail and so much more
