The Role

Whatever the weather, as a Yard Assistant you’ll serve our customers and complete all necessary paperwork accurately to make sure they are absolutely satisfied with the products they buy and the service they receive. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring the safe and correct movement of materials around the branch – including loading and unloading customer and company vehicles, offloading supplier deliveries into stock and picking orders. When driver support is needed in the branch, you will be responsible for delivering our products to our customers using our delivery vehicles safely and efficiently. You must make sure the vehicle is loaded correctly and that we meet road transport and traffic legislation standards, helping our operations run as smoothly as possible. Most of the role will include the use of a counterbalance forklift truck but there may be occasions when manual lifting is required.

What We Are Looking For

This is a key customer-facing role, so you will need great interpersonal skills. You’ll have previous experience as a driver and hold the appropriate driving licence.
