Are you looking for a new challenge to utilise your current HR/Employee Relations experience? Do you take pride in being able to collate information and advise accordingly? Are you highly motivated in prioritising and organising crucial Employee Relations matters? We, at Travis Perkins Plc, have an exciting and varied opportunity within our highly engaged HR Shared Service Employee Relations team, based in Lodge Farm – Northampton.

You will assist in managing ER cases and provide effective, efficient, responsive and commercial Employee Relations advice and support over the phone to all businesses within the Group, with a continuous improvement mindset. This role will be working from our Northampton office 3/4 days a week, with 1/2 days a week working from home.

Key Accountabilities
  • Work towards providing first‑class advice and guidance on all Employee Relations matters over the telephone to colleagues, managers and senior leaders, logging advisory calls on a CRM tool.
  • Ensure the advice given is commercial, impartial, consistent, legally compliant and in line with company policies and procedures, and analyse and advise of any risks and/or costs to the business.
  • With support, effectively and efficiently provide end‑to‑end case‑management support to managers of a low volume of dispute resolution caseload (gross misconduct, disciplinaries, appeals, grievances).
  • Support the Employee Relations Specialists by providing professional administrative support with a range of activities, e.g. medical referrals, letters, document collation for Subject Access Requests.
  • Assist with Employee Relations related business projects as and when required.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar HR role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of employment legislation and a good understanding of data protection principles.
  • Ability to handle difficult or complex situations.
  • Confident and strong influencer, able to respectfully challenge and be challenged at all levels.
  • Hold a driving licence and mode of transport.
