The New Account Controller will play a key role within the Trade Credit department, supporting the business by assessing the creditworthiness of individuals and companies. The primary responsibilities include conducting credit checks to ensure sound credit decisions and helping to raise daily invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
The role requires a high degree of confidence in decision-making, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, demonstrating sound judgement in assessing credit risks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, particularly in Microsoft Excel, as the role involves handling and analysing data to support credit decisions.
Some accountabilities of the role:
- Running a number of confidential searches on individuals/companies and using our company criteria to make a decision as to whether we can offer them credit.
- Capturing clear and concise notes on all decisions via shared spreadsheets and credit management platform.
- Following our best practices to minimise our risk of fraudulent activities.
- Corresponding with customers via email or phone to ask for further information in a timely and professional manner.
- Working towards and completing daily targets.
- Contributing to the daily tasks within the departments.
- Working alongside the Contact Centre, Retail and Finance teams to help handle any customer queries.
- Following processes to raise and process invoices to be sent out to customers on a daily basis.
