As the new Hire Manager at the Llanelli branch, you’ll be at the forefront of driving success and hitting key targets. This is a sales-driven, customer-focused leadership role in a fast-paced environment. You’ll lead the integration of Hire into the wider Travis Perkins branch, provide training and coaching, and work in close collaboration with the Travis Perkins Branch Manager. Your main responsibilities include developing and executing a sales action plan that exceeds budget performance through a proactive sales approach. You’ll support a team of 3 within the Hire team and contribute to a larger branch context.

Working hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, plus 2 Saturdays every 4 weeks (Saturdays 8:00 am–12:00 pm).

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Crushing Sales Goals: Develop a winning sales action plan and drive results beyond targets.
  • Coaching & Training: Work with the Branch Manager to develop the team’s knowledge of tool hire and safety practices.
  • Operational Readiness: Ensure tools and equipment are safe, well maintained, and readily available.
  • Stock Control: Balance stock levels to meet demand and prevent excess.
  • Leading the Team: Oversee the Hire team’s day-to-day activities, providing training, supervision, and motivation.
  • Customer Service & Upselling: Be the go-to for customer queries and identify opportunities to add value.
  • Communication: Maintain daily toolbox talks and clear communication within the team and branch.

Who You Are:

  • Experience: Experience in tool hire, plant hire, or a leadership role is preferred; sales or customer service experience is also valued.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead a team, inspire others, and maintain momentum.
