  • Be the Expert: Provide specialist support and advice on all HSE matters, ensuring our leaders have the technical knowledge to lead safely.
  • Targeted Support: Identify "higher risk" branches and provide proactive, hands‑on coaching to help them develop and execute safety action plans.

  • Lead Change: Implement national HSE improvement programmes, using your local knowledge to ensure they land effectively with branch teams.
  • Investigate & Learn: Manage the Lost Time Incident (LTI) process and lead Incident Review Boards, ensuring "Just Culture" principles are applied and learnings are shared across the Group.
  • Compliance & Assurance: Complete all RIDDOR reporting and conduct scheduled behavioural safety reviews to provide Group-level assurance.
  • Collaborate: Lead Safety Forums and build strong relationships with Branch Managers to turn feedback into actionable safety projects.

Do you have what it takes? You are a strong influencer who knows how to challenge the status quo while maintaining great relationships. You don’t just find problems; you find pragmatic solutions that work for a busy merchant environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate, TechIOSH status, and a Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience: At least 24 months post‑qualification experience in a medium‑risk business (as an HSE Manager or equivalent).
