Department

The Early Careers team is solely responsible for recruiting the firm\’s trainee lawyers and Solicitor Apprentices, reporting to the Partners and Head of HR. As the firm grows its business and looks to ensure competitive advantage, the team has looked to hire the best talent possible, through diverse attraction and rigorous but fair assessment.

The team has grown over the last year and has joined the with the wider HR team as part of the larger lens of strategically focusing on the priorities of the business and firm\’s vision. The Early Careers Team has built a reputation as a consistent and high functioning unit, demonstrating high levels of professionalism, with a proactive and organised approach to the attraction, selection and development of candidates. We continue to strive to be solutions orientated, creative and consistent in all aspects of the role, whether it\’s external or internal, attraction or recruitment. The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Early Careers Recruitment Specialist to enhance our efforts in attracting and recruiting top-tier trainee lawyers and solicitor apprentices, through our comprehensive end-to-end processes. This role involves overseeing and guiding the Recruitment Assistant and Marketing & Events Administrator in organising recruitment days and vacation schemes, monitoring and analysing recruitment data to refine our techniques, and providing strategic advice to support marketing efforts. You will collaborate closely with the Early Careers Manager and Lead Partners to align recruitment strategies with organisational goals, ensuring continuous improvement and the successful attraction and recruitment of high-calibre candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for Early Careers data & MI, to ensure fair and inclusive hiring, as well as ROI from external partnerships.
  • Building relationships with external attraction partnerships, covering both brand partnerships and diversity organisations.
  • Mapping assessment processes and materials, ensuring a fair and equitable process that is run smoothly. This includes attending decision making meetings, to understand the end-to end-process and value of the assessment process.
  • Managing fortnightly Early Careers Recruitment team meetings. This includes distributing a comprehensive agenda prior to the meeting, created by soliciting discussion topics from across the team and gathering appropriate information to provide context.
  • Assist and guide the Early Careers Recruitment Assistant in their duties around organising the recruitment process (interviews, assessments, recruitment days and vacation scheme). This also includes working closely with the Early Careers Development Team/HR to create and manage offer documentation and transfer of candidate information.
  • Assist and guide the Early Careers Marketing & Events Administrator in their duties, including but not limited to, ensuring attraction materials (marketing materials, alongside the website and social media content) are reflective of recruitment and development processes, supporting on all Early Careers events, and building our media presence (both through brands and also social media platforms).
  • To work with the Marketing & Events Administrator and Recruitment Manager to ensure Early Careers Team representation at all events, both in-person and virtual, internal and external.
  • Working with the Early Careers Development team to ensure a smooth transition from the point of offer (including the sharing of assessment data etc).
  • Keep up to date with industry developments which may impact strategy, and where necessary undertake research, including attending industry networking events.
  • Any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Early Careers Recruitment Manager.
  • In the months of November, January and February to screen applications for our processes (alongside the whole team).

Personal Specification – Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Early Careers/Graduate Recruitment in a professional services environment, or office environment, ideally at the assistant level.

Technical/Work-based Skills/Knowledge:

  • Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Creative thinking, for ensuring up to date and appealing attraction and marketing.
  • Willingness to use software packages that are unfamiliar.
  • Demonstrable ability to pick up new skills quickly and effectively.

General Skills/Attributes:

  • High degree of professionalism with a client-centred \’can-do\’ attitude (clients being Partners and prospective applicants/students).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – able to communicate effectively and confidently, and adapts communication styles to different audiences.

We are excited to be moving from our London headquarters in Snow Hill, to a brand-new building in the City – Stonecutter Court. The move is expected to take place in early 2026.
