As you contemplate your future, you might be asking yourself, what’s the next step? Start your journey with us! We’re seeking an experienced Frontend Lead Engineer in Spain to lead a team of backend and frontend engineers to facilitate the international expansion at eDreams Odigeo.

What you will do:

  • Working with top-notch tech stack including ES6 code, Javascript libraries like ReactJS, Graphql, storybook to speed up developments, testing frameworks and libraries like Jest, React testing library and Cypress, Style Sheet preprocessors like SASS, CSS-in-JS and styled-components, Dockerized modules, Git workflow with continuous integration.
  • Collaborating with Product, Business, Architecture, Data Science to shape the technical strategy and evolution of the Hotels domain, define the technical strategy for your modules and ensure their optimal performance.
  • Helping your team translate functional specifications into high-performance logical technical design and code and split the work into smaller tasks that add quick value to customers.
  • Promoting our standards of technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Leading a high performing cross functional agile team of 7-10 experienced software engineers and developers.
  • Taking an active role in finding and hiring the best talent available, in collaboration with our recruiters, and onboard new joiners into our culture of high performance, collaboration and growth.
  • Managing performance, setting goals and prioritising work for your team, balancing the capacity of the team.
  • Establish a sense of identity, engagement and belonging in your team, and improve team dynamics – in collaboration with your dedicated agile coach.
  • Act as a mentor, helping others develop their skills and professional career.

What you need to succeed:

  • Must have: Knowledge and experience with coding, OO design, system design, performance tuning, performance engineering, design patterns, data modelling. Java and code base knowledge. Knowledge and experience with distributed, concurrent and scalable systems.
  • Good to have: Ability to take fast and data driven decisions. Strong communication and influencing skills. Ability to live and transmit our values. Intense focus on what delivers customer value. High standards around quality and technical excellence in coding. Developing and growing self and others. Presenting with confidence to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-powered coding assistants.
  • Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into software development workflows.
  • AI-Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline development processes, and enhance productivity.
  • Adaptability and Learning Agility: Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features and capabilities.
  • Collaboration with AI: Experience or interest in collaborating closely with AI tools as “pair programmers” to complement traditional software development practices.
