You will lead the measurement, verification, and reporting of our corporate carbon footprint, while supporting the education of internal teams on reporting obligations and carbon literacy. The successful delivery of the verifiable baseline will be the foundation for the company\’s Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitment submission in Year 2.

Working closely with the Staff Sustainability Program Manager, and collaborating with Finance, Legal, Workplace, and Product, you will operate at the intersection of data, regulation, and sustainability strategy – ensuring our carbon data is auditable, compliant, and actionable.

What will you be doing?

1. Carbon Accounting & Data Management

  • Lead the full-cycle corporate carbon accounting process (Scope 1–3), ensuring data accuracy, traceability, and adherence to the GHG Protocol.
  • Manage data collection across systems (Finance, Workplace, Procurement) and implement QA processes for calculations.
  • Design and implement auditable Internal Controls and QA processes over the GHG Inventory, ensuring data quality is ready for external verification and assurance
  • Develop and enhance primary data collection methodologies across key Scope 3 categories to strengthen completeness and accuracy.

2. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

  • Monitor and interpret evolving ESG and carbon disclosure regulations (e.g., CSRD, UK SRS, CSDDD) working closely with the Legal team to assess implications and readiness.
  • Own the ESG disclosure calendar and coordinate submissions
  • Prepare and validate data for internal and external assurance processes

3. Strategy & Integration

  • Contribute to TravelPerk’s sustainability strategy through data-driven insights on material ESG issues, targets, and progress
  • Collaborate with the Sustainability Program Manager, Finance and Legal on governance frameworks to ensure ESG data is investor and audit ready
  • Contribute to setting and tracking Science-Based Targets (SBTi) and net-zero pathways

4. Systems, Tools, and Automation

  • Contribute to setting and tracking Science-Based Targets (SBTi) and net-zero pathways
  • Evaluate carbon accounting or ESG reporting software to ensure the company is well set to meet its goals
  • Develop internal tools and workflows to improve and automate data collection

5. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Train and support internal teams on ESG reporting obligations and carbon literacy
  • Support communications and marketing with verified carbon and ESG data
  • Represent TravelPerk in industry and regulatory sustainability discussions where appropriate

What you will need to succeed?

  • 5+ years in sustainability, ESG, or carbon accounting roles – ideally within tech, SaaS, or travel sectors
  • Deep understanding of GHG Protocol and ability to translate this to ESG regulatory frameworks (CSRD, SRS, SECR…)
  • Strong data literacy – proficiency in spreadsheets and ideally SQL, Python, or BI tools.
  • Experience with carbon accounting platforms and ESG reporting software
  • Proven ability to translate regulation into actionable internal frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier engagement and conducting spend-based vs. activity-based analyses for complex Scope 3 supply chains
  • Excellent cross-functional communication, with experience engaging finance, legal and workplace teams
  • (Bonus) Experience supporting product sustainability features or B2B reporting solutions

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Analytical and detail-oriented
  • Passionate about climate data integrity and compliance, not just storytelling
  • Thrives at the intersection of data, regulation, and purpose – equally comfortable in a legal policy brief and a Snowflake dashboard
  • Eager to systematize sustainability and make ESG scalable and verifiable
