Your Purpose
As Head of Treasury and Investor Relations, you will own and drive Travelodge’s overall treasury strategy, balancing financial risk management with proactive value creation. Positioned as a key member of the Corporate Finance leadership team, your purpose is two-fold: executing hands-on, high-impact treasury operations while developing the external storytelling that articulates Travelodge’s commercial narrative to external partners.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and executing treasury policy across multi-currency cash flows, FX, daily liquidity, and cash management investment strategies applying Security, Liquidity, and Yield principles.
- Managing hedging programs for currency and interest rate risks, while maintaining operational banking platforms, bank accounts, and money market funds.
- Overseeing debt, bond, and property financing structures, playing a leading role in future refinancings, while embedding and optimising a new Treasury Management System (TMS).
- Building and maintaining strategic and operational relationships across banking partners, fund providers, rating agencies, and industry experts.
- Crafting external investor communications (including quarterly bondholder updates) and supporting the CFO and Corporate Finance Director with market sentiment analysis and rating agency engagement.
- Establishing standard operating procedures and collaborating with Financial Planning & M&A teams, while exerting a strong influence over Accounts Payable and transactional finance operations.
Your Strengths
To thrive in this role, you will bring a combination of technical treasury rigor, commercial acumen, and the personal drive to operate as both a hands-on self-starter and a strategic leader. You'll demonstrate a strong background in treasury and corporate finance within a multi-site, high-volume environment, having led a team in a scaling business or served as a senior analyst in a FTSE 100+ corporation. Ideally holding or actively pursuing the AMCT qualification, you will have direct experience with debt raises, refinancing, or complex hedging strategies in the £50m-£200m range.
You’ll leverage your deep expertise in derivatives, multi-currency cash flows, tax and technical accounting, Treasury Management Systems (experience in Kyriba advantageous), and Excel financial modeling to drive business value. Thriving in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, you will maintain impeccable attention to detail to translate complex financial data into broad strategic policy. Ultimately, you'll use your resilience and exceptional communication skills to elevate the treasury function internally while effectively representing Travelodge externally.
