As our Director of Maintenance, you will lead our maintenance function which operates as a reactive maintenance business with circa 200 maintenance engineers, and an outsourced supply chain of specialist contractors completing in excess of 400,000 maintenance jobs per annum. Your team will be responsible for ensuring our rooms are available for sale, our hotels provide safe environments for both customers and colleagues, and that we maintain high-quality standards, prioritising work that matters most to our customers, balancing it with ongoing refurbishment cycles, whilst being commercially aware of our budget status and cost controls.

In addition, you will shape and establish our future Maintenance model, including decisions on in-sourcing vs. outsourcing, balancing reactive and planned maintenance, leveraging data and AI, and developing a strategic plan to maximise value and operational performance excellence. You will also oversee the technical supply chain in partnership with our central procurement team to drive optimal value for Travelodge.

You will be a passionate and seasoned leader in maintenance with substantial experience of leading large scale in house and outsourced maintenance resources. You will be comfortable working at a strategic level whilst having the agility to get hands on when required and be up to date with all safety regulations and maintenance best practices. The ability to operate with credibility and integrity with senior stakeholders is essential. In addition, strong leadership, coaching and monitoring is paramount. You will be a self-starting, confident, articulate communicator with experience of developing strategic plans and business cases. You will demonstrate adaptability and innovation with a proven record for making data driven business decisions and consider automation and AI in future plans.
