The Credit Controller is responsible for ensuring effective credit control, timely cash allocation to customer accounts and timely and appropriate escalation of any arising issues, reporting to Accounts Receivable Manager.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Timely preparation and distribution of monthly travel agent statements.
- Proactively chasing travel agents and direct customers for overdue payments via email and phone.
- Build and maintain effective, user-friendly working relationships with internal and external partners to ensure management of debtors.
- Managing inbound email to the Accounts Receivable team, internal and external query handling.
- Assisting with the month end close processes and internal reporting.
- Supporting prompt allocation of cash to customer accounts.
- Supporting Incoming bank reconciliations when required.
- Support the Accounts Receivable Manager to maintain Credit Collection policies and procedure manuals.
- Assisting in the external audit process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Fluency in English is required.
- A minimum of 2 years credit control experience, you will have a good grounding in accounting procedures and be able to quickly pick-up a varied and busy workload.
- You can be studying towards an accountancy qualification, but it is not essential.
- Basic accounting processing and reconciliation skills.
- Experience in maritime, expedition, or cruise industry beneficial but not required.
- Tech-forward and adaptable, with a proven ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Experience working in a multi-national organisation with a global guest mix.
