Role Purpose
The Product Owner is responsible for setting, prioritising, and evaluating the development backlog in order to ensure features and functionality are delivered to the highest standard. Working with the senior product owner, you will be maintaining your product roadmap to support with the build of the required services to deliver a new best-in-class Commerce Platform which will incrementally replace our existing Online, App, Store & Telephony functions. You will be customer and data focused, using insights to identify opportunities, create use cases and work with stakeholders across the wider business to deliver product increments that matter to the customer.
Key Accountabilities And Decision Ownership
- Become the SME and ambassador for the assigned product area
- Work with the Senior Product Owner to scope & deliver a new best-in-class Commerce platform, which will replace our existing Online, App, Store & Telephony functions
- Lead the planning of product increments and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities, ensuring engineering teams are clear on requirements
- Define product vision, road-map and growth opportunities
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritise stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
- Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration and documentation of the user stories and requirements
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful completion of Release/Sprint Goals
- Work with key stakeholders to develop a consistent, best in-class digital experience across the entire customer journey
- Work closely with the Central compliance, fraud, data protection and InfoSec teams to ensure we adhere to compliance & risk requirements
Must Have Skills, Know-how and Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in product development
- Experience of working in and leading scrum teams in an agile development operating model
- Ability to translate business vision and strategy into real requirements
- Leadership and motivation of teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Able to work with UX & Engineering teams with minimum supervision
Preferred
- Understanding of technologies such as React, JavaScript, Node JS, AWS and microservices
- Knowledge of the financial industry including compliance and risk
- Understanding of statistical theory of design of experiments and test/control fundamentals including hypothesis testing with measurements of statistical significance
Technical / Professional Qualifications And Experience
- Excellent knowledge of software such as Microsoft Office, Jira, Miro, Figma and Confluence
- Working knowledge of digital platforms such as CMS, Analytics and Optimisation tools
- Relevant courses relating to Product Owner/Manager, Business/Technical Analyst and Agile
