What Is the Opportunity? We are seeking a talented and experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer with AWS experience to join our team in Redhill, Surrey. This role will be based in our Redhill Office (London Road, Surrey, RH1 1NA) on a Hybrid basis and you may be required to commute to the office 3 days per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and experience with container platforms. What Will You Do?
- Design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure solutions using AWS native services.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Monitor system performance and reliability, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal uptime and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define infrastructure requirements, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing and DevOps methodologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Experience as a DevOps Engineer.
- Strong proficiency in cloud technologies, particularly AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, SNS, SQS).
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or Amazon EKS.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- AWS certification (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Technology or a similar field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of software development principles, including object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Proficiency in Python for developing automation scripts, tools, and applications.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and understanding of branching strategies.
- Familiarity with software testing methodologies and frameworks, such as unit testing and integration testing.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Experience with code review processes and tools.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- Knowledge of security best practices in software development and deployment.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools to ensure application performance and reliability.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
