What Is the Opportunity?
As a Cyber Risk Services Manager at Travelers Europe, you will be at the heart of our cyber insurance offering – assessing the cyber security position, risk management practices, and business continuity of clients ranging from small businesses to large corporates. You will work closely with underwriting teams, delivering clear, credible risk opinions that inform decisions and strengthen client relationships.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and producing structured reports.
- Drawing on a deep knowledge of claims trends and loss drivers.
- Shaping how we use data and audit findings to bring greater value to clients and improve retention.
What Will You Do?
- Provide detailed and accurate cyber risk advice to assist underwriters with risk selection and pricing, including evaluation of remediation measures following a cyber incident.
- Participate in underwriting meetings with agents, brokers, and prospective insureds.
- Conduct highly complex comprehensive risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats for policyholders.
- Analyze and evaluate existing cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to support recommendations while ensuring alignment with industry standards.
- Develop and deliver actionable recommendations to policyholders on how to mitigate highly complex cyber risks, overseeing implementation of risk remediation efforts.
- Assist cyber claims teams when domain-specific expertise improves handling of a cyber claim or incident response.
- Develop programs and manage resources to help insureds understand and mitigate cyber risks, including access to third-party cyber security vendors.
- Track developments in the cyber insurance industry and consult on the development of cyber insurance products and services.
- Identify emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities, evaluating their potential impact on individual insureds and Travelers’ business.
- Support enterprise CAT teams in evaluating cyber aggregation risks and responding to cyber aggregation events.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing Cyber Risk Advisory services and develop new offerings to meet client needs.
- Develop training and education programs related to cyber risks, emerging threats, and cyber risk mitigation and control, and assist in delivering training to underwriters.
- Research, develop, and prepare relevant materials (risk management factsheets, best practice guides, etc.) and thought leadership for external publication.
- Represent Travelers at industry events and thought leadership forums.
- Develop underwriting tools and augmented underwriting opportunities, continuous client network monitoring, outreach, and support.
- Build cross-functional relationships and participate in risk control activities in Travelers US.
- Develop standards and success measurements for the Risk Control services.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Five years of experience in IT Risk Management, Cybersecurity, or related disciplines.
- Certification or advanced knowledge of industry standards/regulations (NIST, ISO, PCI‑DSS, GDPR, etc.) and identification and analysis of existing and emerging cyber threats.
- Experience managing or developing cyber, IT, industrial control systems or information security controls.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
- Experience overseeing or conducting independent risk assessments, business process, IT, or industrial control system control auditing.
- One industry-standard information security certification required (e.g., CISSP, CRISC, CISA, CSX, CFE, PCI); multiple certifications preferred.
