We have an exciting new opportunity for a Sales Consultant working for a well-established Travel Company based in London. This role focuses on working alongside colleagues to ensure personal and company acquisition sales targets are achieved through new business contacts, exceptional call management, and client liaison.

You will successfully package tour proposals within the Customer Service Guarantee guidelines while representing the service ethic and adhering to the framework of values and behaviours.

The Job
  • Create new business using cold call telesales and email techniques.
  • Liaise with the client to ensure accurate tailored proposals are created.
  • Accurately cost proposals using the bespoke costing system.
  • Provide accurate information about hotel, destination, visits.
  • Service clients' requirements efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure all internal guidelines are adhered to.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and some sales administration for a fluid number of tours throughout the year.
  • Tailor proposals reflecting the requirements of the group.
  • Generate accurate tour costings.
  • Liaise with support departments to request and confirm travel, accommodation, visit requirements.
  • Ensure all tours are costed within set budgets and client deposits are received in the agreed time frames.
  • Introduce the concept of lifelong relationships with both client and supplier.
  • Maintain sound product knowledge.
  • Participate in inspection visits where required.
  • Input into maintaining and continually improving information packs about visits in assigned areas.
  • Research and fully understand the competitor landscape and how competitor activity can impact product and pricing strategies.
  • Research subjects and destinations in assigned areas to ensure an up to date knowledge bank.
  • Understand and be aware of Safety Management System and Health & Safety Rules.
  • Understand associate memberships and benefits to client and company.
  • Coaching of less experienced sales consultant colleagues to develop skills and confidence in customer service skills as/when appropriate.
  • Contribute to identifying improvements to work organisation and procedures.
The Person
  • Proven telesales experience and successful target management ability.
  • Proven experience and full understanding of delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to resolve problems, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a wider team.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to fully prepare a specialist tour package including transport, accommodation and costings to suit all School Groups requirements.
  • IT literate and knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Ability to follow procedures and willingness to enhance them.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload and be highly organised.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and accurate written and spoken English.
  • Commercial & financial awareness and numerical ability.
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • Advanced IT knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge of the School Travel Market.
  • Knowledge of a foreign language (French/German/Other).
  • Driving licence.
  • School Travel Market Product knowledge.
  • Destination knowledge in particular Europe & USA.
  • Desire to hit targets and work within a targeted environment.
  • Self-motivated, positive, and professional.
  • Real passion for exceptional service delivery.
  • Ability to work independently inside a team environment.
